 The next AR book test will be due November 16^th, 2018.  The book needs to be worth at least 4 points or it may be worth more than 4 points.  (not the 17^th since it is on a Saturday)

 

ELA:

Monday:  Bellwork: Personification practice, (one side only)

              IXL – Diagnostics, use a new program to try it to see if program meets our needs and possibly adding to our` curriculum.             

                   Extra time will be available for Reading from library book.

 

Tuesday:  Bellwork:  Personify it – (one side only) write 8 sentences using personification

               Hand out extra Rikki-tikki graded worksheets to use on open book test.

               Rikki-tikki-tavi – Comprehension test.  Open book/notes test.

               Read library book. – ICAP finish any other activities to complete the progress

               

                  

Wednesday:  Bellwork:  What is Onomatopoeia? (one side only)

                What is text structure?  Youtube video that discusses the 5 main types of text structure.

                                                  Discuss how it helps comprehension to understand the structures

                 Hand out notes – Read through highlight/make other notes to add to the ones provided.

                 Ereading video – answer ereading activity questions

                  Start Flocabulary lesson on Text structures:  complete the 5 activities                         

Thursday:  Bellwork:   Onomatopoeia practice – (one side only) making up own words of sound

                 Finish Flocabulary – text structure lesson               

                 Using cards to show answer, provide different types of text structure to allow groups to discuss the types of structure and decide upon correct choice.  (use wksts 41-44)

                 Vocabulary from Rikki-tikki-tavi, 26 terms.  Find the definitions – preparing for Vocabulary test that will be next week.

                Read library book if have time.  

                

Friday:  Bellwork – Unstoppable You,  Daily oral language activity 1A – 4 quesitons editing skills

            wkst 53/65 and 66/75 – understanding the text structures

           IXL lessons on text structure

           Study Island – text structure lesson

           Read – library books  (making sure the book is worth 4 points or more)
